Legal documents are too long,
difficult and boring. Let’s change that!
A Legal Design Jam is design-driven hackathon to reimagine how we communicate legal information: can documents like contracts or policies be user-friendly, simple, visual? We bring together motivated individuals from different fields (law, design, business & beyond) to give an extreme user-centric makeover to a contract, transforming it into a tool that works better for end-users and business.
During an intensive, hands-on 1,5-day, the participants will ideate and prototype a new version of the document, creating visualizations and good layouts, rethinking the structure of the document in terms of good storytelling and user needs, and where possible, simplifying its language.
What will you learn?
The only way to learn legal design is by doing it.
During an intensive hands-on workshop you’ll have a chance to try hands-on the legal design method: identifying problems, brainstorming solutions, and prototyping a new version of a legal document in a multidisciplinary team. You will also learn ways to visualize legal information for your inspiration!
Field experts will assits you
The event will be facilitated by Dr. Stefania Passera
(Passera Design Helsinki University Legal Tech Lab),
a pioneer of contract visualization, contract design, and legal design – and the inventor of the Legal Design Jam format.
